Ashok K Gupta
Chairman, PCSC
Ashok Kumar Gupta is the Director at Shalimar Paints, India’s leading and most iconic paint manufacturer. In his role at the organization, Mr. Ashok Gupta oversees the overall operations of the brand while also framing successful growth strategies for the brand. Holding a Master’s degree in Physics and PGDBA, Mr. Ashok Gupta is an industry veteran with over three decades of experience in leadership positions at reputed organizations including SAIL, Jindal Industries, Surya Roshni, Arcelor Mittal etc., specializing in driving business transformation, growth, and profitability.
Mr. Ashok Gupta joined Shalimar Paints in June 2018. Under his guidance, the Company witnessed an impressive turnaround and led to a successful rights issue worth INR 200 crore. Mr. Gupta’s expertise lies in bringing about business transformation by carefully developing strategies that fit best in the interest of the company. He has a sharp financial and business acumen and also a great ability to take the team together.
Abhijit Roy
MD and CEO, Berger Paints India Ltd
An MBA from IIM Bangalore, he started his career with Asian Paints and thereafter joined Lab Garnier. In 1996, he joined Berger Paints India Limited and has been MD & CEO from 1st July 2012.
He is also the chairman of the Skill Subcommittee of CII (ER), member of CII National Council, President of Indian Paint Association and a Management Committee member of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Amit Syngle
Director
Mr Amit Syngle is the Managing Director and CEO of Asian Paints Ltd. Mr Amit Syngle, having joined the Company as a Management Trainee, has held several key positions across functions such as Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Research and Technology.
He is credited with a lot of new initiatives and innovation platforms to grow the business over the last decade which has catapulted the company into exponential growth. He is closely associated with colour, decor and design and is a member of the Colour Marketing Group (CMG), USA and has been honoured with various awards by the Indian and International Marketing fraternity.
Dilip Raghavan
Director PCSC
Mr. Dilip Raghavan is the managing director of Colour Publications Pvt Ltd. A graduate in engineering from Mumbai University, he has pioneered many innovations in the publication. Colour Publications is the publisher of PAINTINDIA, the only periodical focused on paint industry in India and which has chronicled the progress of the industry for over six decades. The company also organises South East Asia’s largest exhibition for the coatings industry–PAINTINDIA, a biennial event which showcases all that is relevant for the coatings industry. The exhibition attracts participants and visitors from across the world.
Jagdish Acharya
Director and CEO
After completing education at Mumbai University and IIM Calcutta, Mr Jagdish Acharya joined Asian Paints where he spent 35 years in various roles, the last as CEO of PPG Asian Paints, a JV of Asian Paints with PPG Industries, serving automotive, industrial and marine customers. Later, till March 2016, he was associated with Asian Paints as their Advisor-Corporate Social responsibilities.
He was also the CEO of Jade Head Managers and Associates, a consulting company based in Mumbai which provides consultancy in the areas of Strategic Management, Organisational Development and CSR.
He is now the CEO of the Paints and Coatings Skill Council. A past president of the India Business forum of CII in China and past co-chairman of the Indo-Korean Business Council of FICCI, Mr Acharya has keenly participated in industry affairs all through his career.
He is also on the Governing Council of two educational institutes and is associated with the Mumbai Chapter of Social Venture Partners which is a philanthropic organisation. He is a Glaxo gold medalist from IIM Kolkata and a Udyog Ratna awardee.
Jaiprakash Shroff
Director
Mr. Jaiprakash Pravinchandra Shroff, Director Shroff Group is a Managing Committee Member – CREDAI Pune Metro. He is the Chairman – Kushal – CREDAI Pune Metro.
He has a wealth of experience of over 30 years in the construction and real estate development sector. He has presented papers and has been a speaker in many prestigious national and international forums and has co-authored a book, “Laws applicable to Construction Industry”.
He is also a visiting faculty in reputed educational institutions and is an active member of various trade bodies and associations.
Jalaj Dani
Director
Jalaj Dani, Co-promoter, Asian Paints Ltd and Chairman, Addverb Technologies Limited.
Jalaj serves as an Independent Director on Board of HDFC Limited and Havells India Limited, and as Director on Board of Reliance Foundation, Reliance Foundation Institute of Education and Research, Piramal Foundation, Pratham Education Foundation and RISE Worldwide Limited.
Prior to this, Jalaj spent over two decades in various capacities including being responsible for Supply Chain and Chemicals business and spearheaded the Human Resources, Corporate Quality and Safety Functions at the group level at Asian Paints.
Jalaj’s passion for sports is the driving force behind Sportscom, a not-for-profit apex industry body to promote the business of manufacturers of sports goods and service providers to the sports sector and make them, globally competitive. He has led the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Skills Council (SPEFL-SC) as its President since 2018. Prior to this, he was Chairman of Paints and Coatings Skill Council (PCSC) from 2015 to 2017. He is also a member of Pradhan Mantri Kaushalya Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) Steering Committee, which functions under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of India
He is the Chairman of the Society and Board of Governors for Indian Institute of Management (Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu) and a Trustee of Sir H N Hospital Trust.
Jalaj is also a member of Advisory Committee of Fit India, a nation-wide movement in India to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. This Advisory Committee is Chaired by the Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Youth Affairs and Sports.
Jason Gonsalves
Director
Mr. Jason Gonsalves holds a Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering & a Masters Degree in Business Management from the University of Mumbai. He joined Kansai Nerolac Paints in 1994 as a trainee & is currently Director of the company. He is on the Board of various Kansai Nerolac group Companies.
In a successful career spanning close to three decades, he is responsible for driving company’s strategy through Corporate planning, IT & Materials. He has held a range of management positions across Strategy, Sales, Corporate Planning, IT, HR, Procurement & Supply Chain. Mr. Gonsalves has won multiple awards from SAP & other reputed organizations.
K Ramakrishnan
Director
Mr Ramakrishnan is a L& T veteran who after a 39-year stint in various roles in Construction, Mining Machinery, Tractors, IT Services and facilities management at Hazira, retired in 2017. Post retirement he has taken up the assignment of Chief Executive of the Skill Development Mission at Larsen & Toubro since 2019. He also heads the core team that assists Mr A M Naik, Chairman NSDC.
Milan Parekh
Director
Mr. Milan Parekh has been associated with the Indian Small Scale Paint Association since 1987, completing nearly 34 years of dedicated service to ISSPA, in various positions. He runs a successful Paint Manufacturing unit in Pune.
He served ISSPA as Chairman of Maharashtra Region for the period 2013-15, and was the president of ISSPA for the period 2017-19.
Naveen Bhatia
Director
An M.Tech. in Paints Technology and with an experience of more than 44 years in the paint industry, Mr. N K Bhatia has handled various assignments in Asian Paints.
He has also worked with MRF Limited – Speciality Coatings Division, and SIP Industries. Subsequently he promoted a partnership venture- Premium Coatings & Chemicals (P) Limited Chennai, a Company in the speciality coatings business having pan India presence.
After serving for twenty years as Chairman and Managing Director of Premium Coatings, he handed over the baton to his partner and now works as a consultant for the industrial paint users and paint companies.
He is a past President and also the recipient of the Life time Achievement Award of the Indian Paint Association.
Pramod Kumar Khanna
Director
Mr. Promod Khanna, director, Punjab Paint Colour & Varnish Works (P) Ltd has five decades of experience in manufacturing paint and allied products.
A past president of the IPA, his company has won awards for quality products, conferred by the President of India in the years 1993 and 2005, and an award from the Productivity Council for quality products in the year 1998.
Mr. Khanna is an active member of the Merchants Chamber of Kanpur, IIA, FASSI and RAC of CBEC.
Priyamvada Bhumkar

Priyamvada Bhumkar is the Managing Director of Soujanya Color Pvt. Ltd., a global leader in innovative sustainable colour solutions.
She is a graduate in Chemistry with an MBA in Finance from Mumbai University.
An alumnus of the Harvard Business School as well as the Stanford School of Business, she has over 25 years of rich experience in the field of colour and dispersions.
Rajiv Rajagopal
Director
Rajiv Rajgopal was appointed as the Managing Director of the Company from November 2018. He joined AkzoNobel in 2013 as Head of Sales and Marketing, Decorative Paints, AkzoNobel India and was appointed Country General Manager India in 2014. Rajiv was appointed as the Regional Director, Performance Coatings, Middle East & Africa in January 2017 and has served on the Boards of several AkzoNobel group companies in the Middle-East and Africa.
Prior to joining AkzoNobel India, Rajiv was the CEO – Broadband & Data at Bharti Airtel Limited. He has also worked with organizations such as Hindustan Unilever and BP/Castrol India primarily in Sales, Marketing and Business Leadership roles.
Rajiv is a Chemical Engineer from University of Mumbai and MMS (Marketing) from SP Jain, Mumbai of the 1993 Batch. He has attended programs at INSEAD Singapore, Harvard Business School, Centre for Creative Leadership and IMD Lausanne.
Sagar Goel

Mr. Sagar Goel is the Managing Director, Aureole Rubbers Pvt Ltd, one of the largest distributors of paints and coating chemicals in North India. A graduate from Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Mr Sagar Goel is also a post-graduate in Management (MBA). Mr Sagar Goel believes that entrepreneurship is about solving problems of others first and emphasises on ethics and professionalism in business.
He is an active philanthropist, being on the boards of several education and religious institutions. He is currently President, Indian Paint and Coating Association.
Surender Vats
Director
Mr Surendra Kumar Vats, the President of Indian Small-Scale Paint Association (ISSPA), is a well-known personality in the Paint manufacturing sector, having 40 years’ experience in the Paint Industry.
Mr Vats is a Postgraduate from Delhi University. He was the Past Warden of Delhi Civil Defence. Mr Vats is National Treasurer of ABJB MAHASABHA and a Managing trustee of SHIROMANI SABHA HARIDWAR and DELHI SEWA DHAM AYODHYA UP.
Mr Vats loves playing cricket, listening to music & is a student of Yoga.
Mr. Saikat Roy Chowdhury

Saikat Roy Chowdhury is the Regional Director of CII ER HQ.
With 25 years of industry experience in diverse fields, Mr Roy Chowdhary has worked with the Trade Fairs Department and headed the Trade Fairs for the Western Region.
He had also worked on the Services Sector initiatives of CII – Central Office and conceptualised and executed conferences/ Summits for various sectors, viz. Business Continuity Management, Shared and Managed Services, Finance, Banking, Corporate Governance, and verticals like telecom, IT, Cloud, Arbitration, Health, Insurance, etc
Saikat was also the head of the Gujarat State Office and worked extensively with the Government of Gujarat on Policy Advocacy, Ease of Doing Business processes and implementation, investment related engagements and large format events. He has represented international delegations as a part of the Government delegation to Japan, China, Germany, Israel, and the UK.
Mr Roy Chowdhury has handled and implemented large-scale global events like the Board of Governors Meetings of Multilateral Banks like the ADB, the AfDB, the AIIB etc for the Ministry of Finance, Govt of India and key Indian events like the Make in India Show in Mumbai, the Textiles India Expo in Gandhinagar, the Vibrant Gujarat Trade Expo in Gandhinagar and the Krishi Vasant event in Nagpur.
V S Ram
Director
After completing education at IIT Madras and IIM Calcutta, Mr. V S Ram joined Asian Paints where he spent 35 years in various roles, the last as CEO of a JV with PPG Industries, serving automotive customers.
Later, he headed a KOSPI-listed pharmaceutical company in Seoul as its president for three and a half years.
A past president of the IPA, and past chairman of the Asian Paint Industry Council, Mr. Ram has keenly participated in industry affairs all through his career.
Vijaykumar Nair
Director
Mr. Vijayakumar is managing partner of Santha Paint House in Trivandrum and Chairman- Dreamcoat Surface Finishing System Pvt Ltd.
A visiting lecturer on paints at the Architecture Department of Government College of Engineering, Trivandrum, he is also consulted by practicing architects and interior designers on a regular basis.
Mr. Vijaykumar is the Founder & Past President of All Kerala Paint Dealers Association. He is an IPA member since 2007.
Mahesh Anand
President, Nippon Paint India Private Ltd
Mr. Mahesh S. Anand is the President & Additional Director of Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division). With over 30 years of experience in the paint industry, he has successfully established Nippon Paint as one of India’s leading Paint brand. He holds the honorary post of The President of the IPA (Indian Paint Association). He is also the Chairman of Paints & Coatings Skill Council.
He joined Nippon in 2006 as the Regional Sales Manager, Tamil Nadu. Over the years, he has been responsible for the successful launch of Nippon in Tamil Nadu, while operating projects in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala & Karnataka. He later rose to the position of Zonal Head for Southern Region, followed by becoming the Vice President- Southern Business operation. He currently oversees the operations of Nippon Paint India’s Decorative Division as its President.
He brings over 29 years of expertise in the paint industry, both regional and national market. He firmly believes that while immense hard work and sacrifice are required to establish a business, seeing it surpass one’s set benchmarks leads to unprecedented satisfaction. True to point, under his leadership Nippon has evolved as a national brand permeating into every household through its marketing campaigns.
Apart from his corporate duties, he is also an Executive Member of Indian Green Building Council. He was bestowed the title of ‘IGBC Fellow” for his outstanding contribution to the Green movement in India.
He is armed with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the prestigious St Joseph’s College, Tiruchirapalli, Tamilnadu and a Master’s in Business Administration, specialized with Marketing & Material Management from Madurai Kamaraj University.
